Here are the activities that each group will be working on today:
If you are new to CoderDojo and new to computer programming this is where you start:
Building Blocks of Architecture
Once complete today’s project will allow you and others to build interesting buildings using a variety of simple stamped shapes.
You will use a repeat until loop to create this project. The repeat until loop is similar to a repeat loop except instead of stopping after a specified number of times it keeps going until a particular condition is true.
Try to complete all the add ons!
Finish off the the Car AI Challenge
Finish off the car AI project you have been working on for the last 2 sessions. Add your project to the Competition Studio and we will find a winner! Who’s AI car is the fastest around the tracks? You will need to set up a timer.
- Share your project and add it to this studio
- Name your project like this: [firstname]‘s AI Challenge (e.g. Aidan’s AI Challenge)
- You must have working timers that can time your car going around each track
- Car must not go off the track or switch directions
- Car must be able to go around all 3 tracks of the starter project.
- Fastest time on track 3 wins!

This session is run by Nathalie. An introduction to robotics using mBot robot kits and a block programming language called mBlock which is similar to Scratch.
3D Computer Aided Design with TinkerCAD
Learn how to make 3D models using Tinkercad. Tinkercad is an easy-to-use 3D computer aided design (CAD) tool. You can quickly turn your idea into a CAD model for a 3D printer with Tinkercad.
A collaborative group exploring how computers can interact with the outside world through a range of sensors and controllers. Primarily we’ll be using the Raspberry Pi (http://raspberrypi.org) computer in conjunction with Arduinos (http://arduino.cc) and along the way we’ll learn about Python, C and C++ programming, digital and analogue electronics and about working together.
